The primary purpose of the MCTDA Sponsorship Program is to assist organizations in developing, promoting, and marketing tourism and culturally related events in Martin County. The sponsorship encourages the development of projects and events that benefit tourism. Funding for the MCTDA is derived solely from occupancy taxes collected from the hotels and motels located within Martin County. Therefore, preferred events and projects include those that promote overnight visits to Martin County.
